Jacquelyn V. Meiser
Mrs. Meiser is a graduate of the
University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.
Her career with the Commission began in 1991 and has spanned the
past 17 years. From 1991- 1996 she served as the Commission’s Grant
Administrator which enabled her to acquire extensive background in
Federal and State water and wastewater construction grant
regulations and procedures, as well as related construction,
engineering, planning and operational principals. Since 2002 she has
served as the Commission’s General Counsel.
As General Counsel she gained
extensive knowledge of the legal, financial and human resources
principals that govern the Commission’s operations, as well as the
state and federal regulations that govern water and wastewater
utilities in Maryland and throughout the United States. As General
Counsel, Mrs. Meiser authored the recent overhaul of the
Commission’s capital improvement financing legislation that was
approved by the Maryland General Assembly and implemented in 2007.
While serving as the Commission
Grant Administrator she attended evening sessions of the University
Of Baltimore School Of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate
degree in 1996. After practicing land use and environmental law with
the law firm of Fossett & Brugger, Chtd. from 1996-1999, she
returned to St. Mary’s County first practicing with the firm of
Lacer, Sparling, Densford & Reynolds, P.C., then opening her own
practice, Law Offices of Jacquelyn V. Meiser, P.C. in 2001. Her
private practice in St. Mary’s County which has focused primarily in
the areas of land use, zoning, real estate, corporate and
administrative law, has enabled Mrs. Meiser to develop an extensive
background in the local zoning, land use and real estate principals
that effect Metropolitan Commission activities.
Mrs. Meiser is an active member of
the Lexington Park Rotary Club. She has served on the Board of
Directors of the St. Mary’s County Chamber of Commerce, the Patuxent
River Navy League and Father Andrew White School. She currently
serves on the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation Board and is the
Chairperson of the Hospital Gala. |
