Steven L. King Director of
METCOM. Steve graduated in 1975 from St. Mary's College of Maryland
with a B.A. degree in Social Science, and a Minor in Biology.
He joined the Commission in 1976 as Executive Assistant to the
Director. He served as Assistant Director from 1981-1998 and
supervised the Commission's activities; human resource management;
state/federal construction grant program; engineering/planning
activities; and the operation of the Commission's water and
wastewater facilities. He was promoted to the position of
Director in December of 1998.
Steve is a member of the Leonardtown Rotary Club and former member
of the Board of Directors. He serves as International Service
Chairman; Asst. District Governor for Water Service projects, Rotary
International District 7620; Legislative Committee Member, SMC
Chamber of Commerce; Vice President, Maryland Association of
Municipal Wastewater Agencies (MAMWA); State Director, National
Rural Water Association (NRWA); Board Member/Secretary Maryland
Rural Water Association (1998-2004) and Ex-Officio Member, St.
Mary's County Water Policy Task Force. |
