Kathleen Werner
Eighth Election District,
is a 1980 graduate of Great Mills High
School, and a 1984 graduate of Mary Washington College in
Fredericksburg, Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies
and Political Science. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the
University of Baltimore School of Law in 1989.
She was admitted to the practice of law in the State of Maryland,
the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and
the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and has
been a Standing Examiner for the Circuit Court of Maryland for St.
Mary’s County since 1999. Her professional affiliations are with
the Maryland State Bar Association; St. Mary’s County Bar
Association, and the Maryland Trial Lawyers’ Association
Ms. Werner was employed by The Dorsey Law Firm in 1992, and became a
partner in the firm in 2003.
In addition to being on the MetCom Board, she also currently serves
on the St. Mary’s County Adult Public Guardianship Review Board; St.
Mary’s County Commission for Women, and the Board of Directors
Tri-County Youth Services Bureau. She has previously served on the
St. Mary’s County Cable Advisory Committee and the St. Mary’s County
Teen Center Advisory Board.
Ms. Werner is also a Foster volunteer with S.M.A.W.L. (St. Mary’s
Animal Welfare League). |
