Assistant Engineer
 

Responsibilities: Review developer construction drawings and specifications; perform and verify engineering calculations.  Analyze system requirements.  Perform planning functions. Assist the Chief Engineer, with the preparation and review of construction cost estimates.  Prepare correspondence, reports, and input to Public Works Agreements.  Calculate fees and bond amounts for new development projects. Develop, plan and manage engineering projects.  Act as liaison with developers and engineers on new water and sewerage construction projects; provide information on existing facilities and their capacities.

 

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering plus five or more years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree plus three or more years of relevant experience; Engineering-In-Training Certification.  Expert knowledge of engineering practices and procedures; knowledge of project development and management.  Experience in engineering software such as water and sewer infrastructure modeling programs, project manager, AutoCAD a plus.
