Public Notification Announcement

Between 5:30 pm, December 13, 2005 and 7:00 am, December 14, 2005, an overflow of approximately 5000 gallons of digested sludge occurred at the Marlay-Taylor Water Reclamation Facility, located at 48020 Pine Hill Run Road, Lexington Park, Maryland. This overflow occurred as a result of a pipeline blockage. The area affected includes Pine Hill Run, which is a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay.

Direct public contact should be avoided with the waters of Pine Hill Run from 50 yards upstream of the Marlay-Taylor facility to the point downstream where it enters the Chesapeake Bay. Please contact the Metropolitan Commission at (301) 373-4733 for additional information.
