Breton Bay Water System

Background

The existing Breton Bay Water System serves approximately 200 homes located on the eastern side of Society Hill Road south of the Breton Inn. The system was originally constructed in the 1960s and consists of 2-, 4-, and 6-inch diameter water mains and two (2) wells. Additionally, the area is not adequately served by fire hydrants.

Project Scope of Work

The Breton Bay Water System will be replaced in three phases, as noted below. The existing water mains and water services up to the existing meter pit locations will be abandoned and new water mains and services will be installed to bring the system up to current MetCom specifications. Additional fire hydrants will also be installed to serve the area.

Phase 1: Phase 1 of the project will include Potomac View Dr, Spring house Ln, Meadow Dr, Meadow Way, Lake Cir, meadow Ct, Center 40 Cir, and Society Hill Rd between Potomac View Dr and South 40 Dr.

Phase 2: Phase 2 of this project will include Lake and Breton View Dr up to South 40 Dr, South 40 Dr, and Society Hill Rd between South 40 Dr and Lake and Breton View Dr.

Phase 3: Phase 3 of this project will include the remainder of Lake and Breton View Dr, the remainder of Society Hill Rd, Port Pl, and Port View Cir.
